Ashley L. Johnson is a passionate advocate who understands the unique challenges that family law presents. Originally from Northern New Jersey, Ashley moved to Philadelphia to attend Drexel University, where she graduated from in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a minor in Paralegal Studies.
Ashley completed the two-year accelerated program at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law and received her J.D. in 2018. During law school, Ashley participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic at Philadelphia Legal Assistance where she handled custody and protection from abuse actions. In addition to her work at the clinic, Ashley completed a co-op placement at a boutique family law firm in Philadelphia and continued working at this firm part-time until graduating, after which she became an associate attorney representing clients in custody, support and divorce matters.
Ashley worked at the Defender Association of Philadelphia as a Child Advocate Attorney where she represented children in dependency matters. This position required Ashley to be in court several hours every week, which provided her extensive experience in the courtroom and the opportunity to refine her trial skills.
Prior to joining Boyd & Early Family Law, Ashley was an associate at a labor law firm in Philadelphia where she was part of the Legal Services Team, a high-volume practice representing union members in various legal matters. Ashley’s primary focus was family law, but she also gained experience drafting simple estate-planning documents and representing clients in minor criminal matters in Philadelphia Municipal Court and surrounding counties.
Ashley is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
